December last year when Nokia, the world’s largest mobile phone maker, unveiled its new program “Comes with Music” where users can get free access to music (from past, present and future) for a year and keep it after that period.

Comes with Music” is a revolutionary way for people to discover and enjoy music with their Nokia device. It is bundled with selected Nokia handsets and users can download unlimited songs not only to their mobile device but also to their computers for a year. At the end of the one year period, users can keep the downloaded tracks to their device/s for the rest of their lives.

Other options for continuous access to music will also be made available to users once the first year of free access has expired—purchasing music through Nokia Music Store or by subscribing to Nokia “unlimited access” service.

“We set out to create the music experience that people are telling us they are looking for – all the music they want in the form of unlimited downloads to their mobile device and PC,” said Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Multimedia, Nokia. “Even if you listened to music 24 hours a day, seven days a week, you would still only scratch the surface of the music that we’re making available. Comes with Music fulfils our dream to give consumers all the music they want, wherever they want it, while rewarding the artists who create it.”

Nokia first made a deal with the world’s largest music label, Universal Music Group International, and was followed by EMI. Just recently, Nokia closed another deal with Sony BMG.

The program is expected to be launched during the second half of this year in selected markets.
