Richard Poon launches debut album on Feb. 1

Richard Poon finally takes his turn to stardom via his debut album, “I’ll Take Care of You,” produced by Cornerstone Talent Management Center and distributed by MCA Music, Inc.. This romantic crooner has long waited for this project to happen because it‘s a challenge to him to make immortal hits of Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart and Tony Bennet sound as if they were new again.

But unlike others who do covers, Richard didn’t stick to just a particular musical era. He made it a point to reach out to the younger set of listeners by including contemporary hits arranged to his “Fresh Old –School Music.” His ability as songwriter also shines in the CD’s well balanced repertoire. It’s a complete entertainment package that the matured crowd and the young fans would love to play over and over. “I’ll Take Care of You” CD was recently launched in ASAP over ABS-CBN.

Considered a veteran of live entertainment, Richard surfaced in the industry as a guitarist and lead singer of an acoustic band. He easily stood out from the many acoustic players for his good looks and rich velvet smooth vocals. His management team at Cornerstone Talent Management Center believes that Richard is indeed destined to be a big star based on the impact he made when he guested in the recently concluded 2007 Miss Earth Beauty Pageant. He captivated both the ladies and gentlemen in the audience with a string of romantic songs.

Born and raised in the Philippines he inherited his singing skills from his mother who is a big star in Taiwan up to the present. Another field in which he has established a good reputation is in the Culinary Arts. He specializes in Oriental food available in his Little Poon restaurant.

As a musician, Poon together with his skilled four piece jazz band, have proudly graced many lounges and bars across the metro including a regular stint at Eastwood Central Plaza. They are also consistently invited to perform in various weddings, corporate shows and parties.

The season of hearts brings a brand new meaning in Richard’s life as he officially launches his debut solo album. A stellar attraction at Eastwood Central Plaza, Richard Poon is slated to do a special show…his Grand Album Launch on February 1 at 8 Pm.
