american_idol_2010If I will answer this question, I’ll say that it’s not. Season 9 of the biggest reality show in the world is just about to start this week so why will you say it’s gonna be the end? Kidding aside, I believe as long as there are people watching it, fans screaming for their bets, and songs hitting the sales records and music charts, every season of American Idol will be a success.

Earlier, Simon Cowell announced that he’ll be out of the show starting next season to focus being an executive producer and judge to the US version of his hit English show “The X Factor”. Meanwhile, Ellen deGeneres (in place of Paula Abdul) will join Simon, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson.

But, can American Idol stand without Simon Cowell? Admit it or not, Simon has somehow helped move the music and TV industry as much as he moves the show every season. Despite of being harsh and basking on the show’s aspiring singers, he somehow changed everyone’s outlook towards music, specifically conventional music. His comments on contestants maybe harsh sometimes but that put up a challenge for them to go show more what they can do and go beyond their comfort zones. On the other hand, can Ellen DeGeneres spice up the show? I believe yes. She is gonna be a big twist to the show.

Other judges joining the audition episodes are Avril Lavigne, Joe Jonas, Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, Neil Patrick Harris, and Kristin Chenoweth.

Catch the two-part premiere of American Idol Season 9 via satellite on QTV channel 11 on January 13, 6PM (replay at 8 PM) and January 14, 6 PM (replay at 8PM).
