We all know that 2007 was a great year for music lovers. That year was full of great music and a great artists had invaded Manila for their concerts. So do you think 2008 will be as great or even greater than the previous year? Well, let me excite you by giving you hints on who’s to come to Manila this year. Just to warn you, these are just rumors and it is not definite yet if they will really come over so I hope it will not disappoint you in the end.
So, the following are the artists rumored to do their concerts this year in the Metro:
1. Duran Duran
Duran Duran is just one of those rumored to come over to Manila this year. Well, it’s not impossible since the band is really busy touring several parts of the US and other parts of the Globe. With their Red Carpet Massacre album featuring new songs and collaborations with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, this is something to look forward to for the fans. The rumored concert in Manila will be held at the Araneta Coliseum this March.
2. Joss Stone
This English soul and R&B singer, songwriter and actress is also rumored to have her concert here. Being able to sell over 10 million albums worldwide, topping the music charts and even getting several nominations from award-giving bodies such as Grammy Awards, this year might be the best time to conduct her concert here. It is rumored that she’ll be having her concert here in April with Araneta Coliseum as the venue.
3. Damian Marley
With reggae as a popular genre among the youth today, Bob Marley’s son, Damian Marley, will never go wrong having his concert here. Being a three-time Grammy awardee, I’m sure it will be a blast when he comes here to perform. The rumored concert in the Philippines will be held this May at the shores of Boracay.
4. Natalie Cole
Nat King Cole’s daughter is another rumored artist to do a concert here. This singer, songwriter who also had appearances on TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy has a lot of good songs to offer to Filipinos including “Someone That I Used to Love”, “Mr. Melody”, “Inseparable”, and a lot more. This Grammy awardee is rumored to have her Concert at the Big Dome on May 2008.

Is Duran Duran really coming over? I know they are having concerts in Australia this summer. I hope MTV can bring them back..saw them when they were here in 1989. That was one great concert back then! Pls pls MTV, bring them back. I bet it’s gonna be one sold-out concert since all their fans are now income earners…no need to save up on allowances or to plead with mom…When will it be confirmed? I want a front row seat no matter the cost! DD forever:)
