First, it was a pre-recorded performance during the pre-game for Super Bowl XLII. It was followed by its official premiere on American Idol last February 21. Well, I’m talking about Paula Abdul’s new single ‘Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow‘.

It was American Idol which gave a new break for Paula after she went out of the scene for several years due to professional and personal struggles (such as divorce and 14 cervical spinal surgeries) she had to face years back. And now she’s renewing her fame step-by-step until coming up with this new single.

Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow‘ is a collaboration with co-idol judge Randy Jackson which is included in his debut album, Music Club: Volume 1. It is Paula’s newest hit after almost a decade when her hit ‘Ain’t Never Gonna Give You Up‘ was released in 1996. On the other hand, part of its music video are Randy, Ryan Seacrest and a bit of Simon Cowell. Aside from Paula, joining the Jackson club are Joss Stone, Jason Mraz, Anthony Hamilton, Katharine McPhee, Elliott Yamin, Lucy Woodward and Mariah Carey, among others.

The song has a nice beat actually. It is fun and funky. For sure, a lot of people even the younger ones will like this as much as they like Paula on American Idol. On the other hand, some commenters on youtube are somewhat comparing Paula to Britney, finding some similarities. It’s maybe the voice, the beat or both.

What do you think? Is it really the best time to for Paula’s comeback? Do you think she’ll have another multi-platinum records and another set of Grammy awards and citations? Let’s see then.
