This would be a bad news if ever.
I still can remember, if I’m not mistaken it was a year ago, how subscribers reacted when Globe increased the price of their unlimited texting service. At first, it was called UNLIMITXT which was offered at 15, 25, and 50 pesos for 1, 2 and 5 days of unlimited texting within the network. It was then changed to UNLITXT which offers the same service at a higher fee. Globe charged P20 for 1 day, P40 for 2 days and P80 for 4 days. This move made a lot of consumers upset considering the fact that they claimed that this will be a “forever” service.
But, I believe this brand new move of Globe Telecom a.k.a. Innove will even make us more upset. After hearing the rumor, I decided to call the customer care hotline and as well as check their website.
The customer care representative told me that the UNLITXT service ended last December 14 and now, they are only offering the UNLITXT DAY SHIFT service, which is an unlimited Globe-to-Globe texting service which can be used from 8:00AM-4:59 PM.
When I checked their website today, I didn’t find anything about the UNLITXT service and here’s the only information I found:

Did Globe just fool us once more? But wait, there’s still a chance that they will offer this again. Let’s just wait for further announcement next year. Maybe Globe only needs to gain more revenues this holiday season. So expect that you’re phone will never be flooded with greetings this holiday. haha..

woi.. ameshue.. dahil jan, magsun ka na lang..ühaha..ü enge nga ng ym id mo.. mishu headward.. musta ka na?

[...] For the second time this year, Globe Telecom stopped its unlimited texting service without any public announcement. [...]

yeah it seems Globe is on a win-win (for THEM, not the consumer)setup right now.
SCENARIO 1:
globe suddenly switches the unlitext promo from 24 hours to a day/night schedule. they limit the testing period so in case people complain, they can claim once more that their congested network is unduly stressed over the holidays and threaten that service will suffer if they don’t rein in the abusers of the service. then after acting like they’re beleaguered and their hands are tied in the matter (wawa naman sila….) they will point out it was only till january 14 anyway. consumer feels happy and globe gets more data on how and when to time their next price increase.
SCENARIO 2:
People don’t complain bec theyre addicted to texting and globe is the new philip morris supplying people with a steady stream of psychological dependency causing drug which we call text messaging. until oil prices go up again, of course. in that case globe can still act the concerned, responsive telco (excuse me while i vomit) and commiserate by lowering text promo pricing.
GAME OVER. GLOBE WINS. WE’RE SCREWED ANYWAY. Happy Holidays from the worldwidest!
HEY ANO BATO
PANO NGA MAG REGISTER SA GLOBE ULINITED TEXT?? GUSTO KO KASI MAG PA UNLI
*u*k that globe telecom. i tried to register sa unlitxt80 pero di ako makapagregister. tumawag ako sa customer service. na-blocked daw sim# ko. reason: ang unli txt daw is for person-to-person only. di daw pwde ang group messages. wala naman un sa policy ah. what if kung may clan ka or same message lang sasabihin mo sa maraming tao. then they’ll treat it as a spam message?! sh*t sila
