I had to be in a rush to Araneta Coliseum after my last class just to experience Maroon 5’s music. I thought I won’t be able to see them perform from the beginning. I haven’t even eaten dinner due to my excitement. When I was in school, my mind was flying and I didn’t even give much attention to my professor.
If there’s one that I missed, maybe that’s the front act. I’m not sure if there was any but what’s important is that I was able to watch it from the start until the end. For me, it was a blast too just like the previous concerts held here. I thought I was gonna lose my voice after singing and jamming with the crowd like there’s no tomorrow.
(the stage)
Well, I got some things to say about the concert. First, I was so impressed with how the stage was set up and how it looked like. It was simple, yet unique and very inviting. I was amazed by the lightings too. I actually appreciate Maroon 5’s stage more than Ne-yo’s. Second, it was fun seeing Adam play and sing with the tagalog words like ‘Isa, dalawa, tatlo’. The band was creative with this one which instantly made a connection between them and their Filipino audience.

Based from my observation, the Filipino audience has been improving in terms of energy. We are becoming more energetic now unlike in the recent years or decades. A lot has been jamming and getting along with the music. With Adam’s smile, I’m pretty sure he’s so happy on how he was welcomed by his Filipino fans. Remember how he smiled while he tried to delay singing? Even with that simple smile, a lot of girls went so crazy. They didn’t do all of their songs but the live version of their popular hits were really great especially the songs ‘I Won’t Go Home Without You‘, ‘Makes Me Wonder‘ and ‘Wake Up Call’. And of course, ‘She Will Be Loved‘ and ‘ This Love’ were the most popular among the crowd.
I was expecting this will be a longer concert since they have a lot of good songs. Unfortunately, my favorite ‘Goodnight Goodnight’ and ‘Kiwi’ were not included in tonight’s playlist. In addition, it was just ten to twenty minutes longer than Ne-yo’s concert. It took about an hour and 30-40 minutes. That was quick still but it’s good enough to hear them as they perform live. I hope they’ll come back here with more songs next time.
