Though many legends have already left the physical world, these rock icons are close to surpassing the boundaries of what is mortal and elemental with their newest attempt to conquer the rock and roll world. Another one great rock show awaits thousands of head banging fans this September. MCA Music Inc. with the special participation of Fliptunes.net presents Death Magnetic – the newest album of by far the most influential icons in rock and roll history namely James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo also known as the awesome foursome of Metallica!
With almost 3 decades of music, accolades, tours and even a funeral on their belts, it is needless to say that this group still has a lot to offer. With a more innovative angle in their songs, chiselled with solid Metallica riffs and beats, Death Magnetic is expected to draw more attention than ever. This time around, Metallica shows a deeper, darker and angrier side. Even the titles of the tracks can’t seem to put mystery in the kind of mood that Metallica conveys in Death Magnetic.
In their first single, The Day that Never Comes, Metallica talks about forgiveness and resentment. In a recent interview with MTV done during the video shoot of their first single, Metallica front man James Hetfield states, “There are so many celebrities that soapbox their opinions, and people believe it’s more valid because they’re popular. For us, people are people — you should all have your own opinion. We are hopefully putting the human element in what is an unfortunate part of life. There are people over there dealing with situations like this, and we’re showing the human part of being there. It’s the forgiveness part — that is key,” he continued. “Metallica has never plugged into any current event visually, but this one is kind of a hotbed. People have very high opinions about this war, and we’re trying to cut through all of that. The politics and the religion tend to separate people, and what we’re trying to do is bring it together with the common thread of resentment and forgiveness.” But what does Death Magnetic really stand for besides the intriguing and close to scandalous album cover? In an interview with Norwegian television, Hetfield explains, “It started out as kind of a tribute to people that have fallen in our business, like Layne Staley. Some people are drawn towards death, just like a magnet, and other people are afraid of it and push away.”
It is fortunate that Metallica’s music has lived over the years. Now, the sound that existed from vinyl, to cassettes, to CD’s is now available through digital downloads. oh yeah! metallica! i grew up listening to their music. although i did at first thought that when jason newstead left to join ozzy osbourne’s band, it was a catastrophic event in the band’s history. but rob trujillo (who they got to replace newstead and who by the way came from ozzy osbourne’s band) is doing a great job. i can’t wait to get a copy of this album.
rock on!
There is no doubt that Metallica will silence alot of ditractors with their latest effort.
We are looking forward to its September release.

I have to disagree. ‘Tallica members aren’t the “most most influential icons in rock and roll history”. But with metal/thrash metal, they could very well be. As for rock and roll, I’d go for Chuck Berry. Or AC/DC. Or Led Zep, to a certain degree.
