Time Magazine released its fifth annual list of the world’s most influential people for 2008. Making it to this year’s list are singing sensations Mariah Carey and Miley Cyrus.

Young singer-actress Miley Cyrus is such a big hit worldwide for her Hannah Montana show on Disney. Aside from growing fanbase, her show and talent has been leading her to a lot of opportunities–tours and concerts, more guest appearances, and movies. In fact, she is one of the world’s top earners under the age of 25.

In a write-up made by Stevie Wonder, he said, “Mariah didn’t break all those sales records just because she’s beautiful. She has perseverance and consistency. You need the two: the ability to keep going and the ability to keep doing the right thing.” He also stated, “When people talk about the great influential singers, they talk about Aretha, Whitney and Mariah. That’s a testament to her talent. Her range is that amazing.”

Time Magazine’s list of World’s 100 influential people is divided into five sections: leaders and revolutionaries, heroes and pioneers, scientists and thinkers, artists and entertainers, and builders and titans.
