Laarni Losala of Sultan Kudarat is the top scholar of the second season of ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Dream Academy and made a lead over the other five scholars who made it to the show’s Grand Dream Night.
Laarni, who did her version of “Manalig Ka” and “Boogie Wonderland” during the Grand Dream Night which took place at the Cuneta Astrodome last September 13, was awarded as the Grand Star Dreamer for this season. Aside from fame, she received cash and other prizes from the sponsors making her an instant star and millionaire.
Following Laarni were Bugoy, Miguel, Liezel, Van, and Cris (following their ranking as announced during the show’s grand finale).
Among many singers and performers, Laarni idolizes 
Lea Salonga, Whitney Houston, Charlotte Church, Sitti Navarro, Charice Pempengco, Gary V., Renee Olstead, and Enya.
The second season of Pinoy Dream Academy, which first aired via the Kapamilya network last June 14, 2008, officially ended this September 14. The faculty and mentors were composed of Jose Javier Reyes, Ryan Cayabyab, Kitchie Molina and Monet Silvestre. The show’s hosts were Billy Crawford, Nikki Gil and Toni Gonzaga.

Laarni really deserves to be the winner. I was just able to watch this program when I went back to the Philippines… The first time that I’ve watched the scholars sing, I noticed Laarni’s potential and I concluded that she’s gonna be the big star dreamer and Bugoy will be the second. As they say, Laarni doesn’t deserve it because she has an attitude… Well, there’s nothing impossible with the Lord if she will humble, submit herself to Him and try to change. Whatever happened was God’s will… whatever things we will say about Laarni’s achievement will be nonsense because it is finished. I know that she’s starting to realize now about the wrong actuations and attitudes that she has shown in the academy and I believe she has the desire to change and win everybody’s heart. Let’s just give her the chance, ok? I was not able to finish the competition because I went back here to Bahrain… But I was so happy when my loved ones informed me that she won. I just watched her in the internet. CONGRATS LAARNI! God bless you…
