Another artist is about to make another big performance here in Manila. He’s no other than James Hillier Blount or much known as James Blunt, an English singer and songwriter who gained his popularity in 2005 with his single “You’re Beautiful”.

Blunt, who made another record for being the first British Artist who made it to the number 1 spot with his hit “You’re Beautiful” in the US Billboard charts after almost a decade when Elton John’s Candle in the Wind got the same record in 1997, had to pursue a career in the military after being sponsored by the British Army for his college education.

Aside from singing and writing songs, Blunt has the talent in playing several musical instruments including piano, guitar, organ, marimba and mellotron. He recorded his first album, Back to Bedlam, in 2003 and soon was released in 2004. The album features his popular songs “You’re Beautiful” and “Goodbye My Lover”. In 2006, a DVD and live album, Chasing Time: The Bedlam Sessions, was released as a follow-up to his debut album. And just last September 2007, All the Lost Souls, his third album, was released.His third album, featuring ten songs including the first single “1973“, has been setting-up records in several parts of the world. The cover is simply a photo mosaic of Blunt showing a thousand photos from childhood up to the recent time.

It’s going to be a big day for his Filipino fans on May 19, 2008 at the Araneta Coliseum, as this BRIT awardee and Grammy-nominated artist will be showcasing a mix of pop, folk and acoustic rock musical styles in this one night event.
