Almost everybody knows that GMA 7 now owns the right to air the new Idol show in the Philippines, which will be called “Pinoy Idol”. And today, the network has just started calling the attention of Idol aspirants around the nation.
As shown on TV, audition dates and venues are now being announced and will take place in major areas in the provinces such as Cebu, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro and more. You may check out the TV plug for more/specific details. But take note, from what I have heard they are searching for the first Pinoy Idol so I believe the claims that this show will be treated as a new and independent of the first season is true. So this means, Mau Marcelo might not be considered the first winner.
Pinoy Idol, as what it will be called (no longer Philippine Idol), is rumored to be aired on the first quarter or around February of 2008.
As to who will judge and host the show is still a big question left to the viewers. Of course, there are rumors that Ryan Agoncillo and Ryan Cayabyab from the first season will still be part of this show while others say that it can be Mo Twister, Drew Arellano, Paolo Bediones or still Regine Velasques who used to host previous singing competitions of the network.
Aside from Pinoy Idol, GMA 7 holds the airing rights of Fremantle’s shows such as Celebrity Duets, Whammy, and Family Feud. On the other hand, the new season of American Idol will be aired on GMA 7 owned station, QTV Channel 11.
So who you think should be the judges and host of this show?

Comment lang sa Name ng programa: sana nga ginawa na lang na “FILIPINO IDOL” mas maganda kasing pakinggan at talaga namang un ang tawag sa ating mga Filipino, ‘di ba? another reason kung bakit hindi philippine idol ang pamagat, kasi ayaw pumayag ng abc5 na gamitin ng gma7 ang title na philippine idol kasi copyrighted sa abc5, kaya pinoy idol na lang ang pamagat sa gma7.

I believe that Mau marcelo should be recognized still infact she’s really the 1st Phillipine or Pinoy idol whether its GMA 7 who has now claim for its rights. I guess, wyngard Tracy would fit as a”terror” judge of the show. I’ve seen him judging a singing contest in Ch. 2 – tirador talaga!!! Ogie is OK, Am not sure of Jolina….but knowing her..she has taste for music and fashion like in AI – paula Abdul. Well, for now…let’s wait and see..

I have a suggestion…like the American Idol they do not have age limit as long as you have the talent…there are some who is age 37 that does not look their age…why not give them a chance? take it from me…please let’s not descriminate people…kaya yong mga talent natin recognized in other country..coz we do not appreciate them here…also i think may mga palakasan din tayo…lalo na yong inggit! crab mentality…we are number one when it comes to that…give chance to those who have talent…do not look at the age…listen to the voice! BTW …when is the audition?
