From It’s All About the Hits to Music Domination, MCA Music Inc. is more than privileged to have provided hit after hit, album after album, this past year. With the multiple highlights that occurred, some songs have made it to the top faster than others, but one thing still holds true…no matter what kind of sound the future holds, MCA Music Inc. is definitely here to stay. Here is a quick view of what has happened and a preview of what’s to come. This is Music Domination!

THE VISITORS

The Philippines had the privilege of seeing top international artists up close! This long list includes Colbie Caillat who sung pleasantly and beautifully during her Ayala Malls tour. She capped off 2008 with a perfect follow-up with the Deluxe Edition of her debut album Coco.

Next was Ne-Yo, the Grammy winner and master collaborator that filled up the Araneta Coliseum where he initially promoted his past two albums entitled In my Own Words and Because of You, but due to his massive success, he came out with Year of the Gentleman that has the smash hit that is currently leading the charts, Mad.

Another top act that had a brief stint here in the Philippines is Maroon 5 whose power line up of tracks transformed there recent album, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long into a compilation of their greatest hits. The album was so successful that four versions were made available to music-lovers nationwide. To cap off the year, Maroon 5 also launches their new album, Call & Reponse, a compilation of all their songs from their album It Won’t Be Soon Before Long where world-renowned top mixers with the likes of Pharrel, Tiesto and more.

The artist that garnered a platinum award that got the Fort Bonifacio open field dancing and singing to her hits is Rihanna. She came out also with four versions of her album, Good Girl Gone Bad that had a Reloaded, International and Special Philippines Edition version as well. Her huge success also served 7 singles including the worldwide phenomenon, Umbrella and the recent chart-toper hit, Rehab.

Lastly, it was indeed a glorious moment when MCA Music Inc.’s past lead singer of Zoo, Arnel Pineda got discovered by legendary rock band Journey. He once again proved that the Filipino talent is definitely one for the world and not only the local scene. In his first stint as an international superstar, Arnel Pineda released his globally distributed album, Revelation, where he sung most of Journey’s most popular classic hits, Don’t Stop Believing and After All These Years and new original songs powerfully.
