
The long-wait and betting is almost over as the 50th Grammy Awards will be aired today.After the nominations last December 6, 2007, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences will be awarding those who got outstanding achievements in the record industry. Just like last year, the awards night will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California this February 10.
Aside from the awarding proper, much-awaited are the announced performances from Beyoncé, Feist, Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, the Clark Sisters, Israel And New Breed, Trin-I-Tee 5:7 in a special gospel segment, the casts of “The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil” and Across The Universe in a special Beatles segment, and Rihanna. Recently added to perform are Fergie, John Legend, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, John Fogerty, Jerry Lee Lewis, Herbie Hancock, and Lang Lang.
On the other hand, presenting the awards are Akon, Jason Bateman, Tony Bennett, Chris Brown, Cher, Natalie Cole, Miley Cyrus, Nelly Furtado, Tom Hanks, Quincy Jones, Juanes, Joe Montegna, Solange Knowles, Cyndi Lauper, George Lopez, Lyle Lovett, Ludacris, Bette Midler, Prince, Bonnie Raitt, Ringo Starr, Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, Taylor Swift, and Stevie Wonder.
