Though the weather was playful the other week,  it didn’t stop Simple Plan, Jamie Scott, New Found Glory and Alicia Keys from performing in front of their Filipino followers. It didn’t even stopped their fans from going to these events which happened back-to-back in two consecutive nights of August 4 and 5.

What’s common about the two events? It’s actually Alicia Keys and Simple Plan’s second concert here in Manila. And now, they went here with more hits which made both event much enjoyable.

Simple Plan with New Found Glory and Jamie Scott

Too bad, we were not able to catch Jamie Scott but we were on time to see and hear New Found Glory, one of the reasons why I badly wanna see this event. I heard some of their covers and I was amazed from then on. Unfortunately, the poor sound system didn’t give that much justice on their performance.

On the other hand, Simple Plan was still the crowd’s favorite. A lot of people at the big dome jammed with them at that night.

One good thing about the was they were very interactive. They were walking around the stage and even tried to walk down the stage and go near the audience. Lucky those who got their guitar picks.

Alicia Keys

“No one” can ever be like Alicia Keys. She’s so talented, pretty and sexy. I was so glad to see her perform live. I was even telling myself, “Even if she doesn’t sing, seeing her is more than enough.”

Alicia Keys’ concert, which was supposed to be held at the open area somewhere at the Mall of Asia Complex,  was moved to SMX Convention Center. Thanfully, it was moved there because if not, people could’ve suffered from heat (since it was not raining at all during that night) and the stage might have been too far from those in the general admission area.

Though I am not so much familiar with some of Alicia Keys’ songs, I still enjoyed. I should say that she really deserves all the awards she got. With the quality of her voice which is a bit husky, I was afraid for her at first but I was surprised that she was able to sustain it until the end. I was astonished by the stage, sound system, and the lighting though I find the stage to be a bit small.

If Alicia Keys will come here for the third time, I will definitely watch her again! (Too bad I wasn’t able to take some photos)
