A day full of music and fun is set for the Ako Mismo day this Independence day, June 12 at the Bonifacio Global City Open Field.

Ako Mismo, an advocacy campaign supported by known local figures, celebrities, artists and bands, will celebrate the Independence day through an event dubbed as “Ako Mismo Dog Tag Day“.

“Ako Mismo Dog Tag Day” starts at 2pm when dog tags will be sold. This will serve as an entrance ticket to the event. At the venue, everyone will have the opprtunity to check out booths of partner charities which will benefit from this event. These include Caritas Manila, UN Stand up Against Poverty, World Vision, Dynamic Teen Company, ERDA, UP PGH Cancer Institute Foundation, Gawad Kalinga, Cutis Laxa Benefit, PNP Badge of Honor Foundation, PLDT Smart Foundation and DDB Cares.
 

From 5 to 7PM, school and professional bands will perform, to be followed by popular bands from 7 to 9 PM.  Bamboo, Pupil, The Dawn, Kamikaze, Kjwan, and Up Dharma Down will grace the event. These bands will also do a special number as tribute for Francis Magalona.

Aside from bands’ performances, registered members of Akomismo.org will get a chance to win one of five Lenovo laptops and other gadgets to given away on the dog tag day. Non-members can also qualify by registering at the venue. . Raffle winners who have at least three marks on their form (those who participated in three activities) will get limited edition premium dog tags.
 
Ako Mismo campaign is an initiative of the Corporates Social Responsibility arm of DDB, a leading advertising network. It aims to battle against indifference and helplessness, and to promote optimism in the country. The campaign had received a phenomenal and controversial response from the people.
