Asian music fans can now officially vote for their favorite artists and bands for the upcoming 2008 MTV Asia Awards happening in Malaysia this coming August 2.

Fans and music enthusiasts from the following countries can vote for their bets at: China, Hongkong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.

In the Philippines, fans can vote for the following nominees:

Chicosci

Sandwich

Sponge Cola

Urbandub

Fans can also vote for the the following artists for the “Favorite International Artist in Asia” category:

Avril Lavigne, Fergie, Justin Timberlake, Linkin Park

Other categories are: “Breakthrough Artist“, “The Innovation Award“, “Best Hookup“, “Bring Da House Down” and “Video Star“.

The event, to be hosted by  Jared Leto, will be a big gathering of fans, music and movie stars, can be witnessed by millions viewers across Asia. Not only that, this is going to be a night for a cause as it aims to raise funds to help the victims of the disaster which hit Myanmar and China. (Donations can be pledged at www.ifrc.org). Proceeds of the event will go to International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Asia Relief Fund.
